Reading: Reading is a huge part of life! As a 2nd grade team, we work to instill a love of reading in our students. We also know that it is important for this joy to transfer to life outside of school.

Research also indicates that reading at home has significant academic benefits.

 

For these reasons, we encourage students to read 20 minutes a day most days of the week. Students will be given an optional rewards-based tracking form monthly.

Math: Your child’s math skills are important. We will have multiple opportunities in our day to learn, practice, and stretch students’ math abilities. Your job at home is to reinforce math concepts as a part of everyday living (eg: cooking, shopping, telling time.)
